Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns

1 1/4 cups warm water (about 100F) 1/3 cup mild oil 1/4 cup sugar (or honey) 2 packages yeast (2 scant Tbsp) 4 teaspoons salt 1 egg yolk 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup bread flour (or all-purpose flour) Melted butter Combine water, oil, sugar and yeast. Place the buns on a cookie sheet, brush the tops with melted butter, and allow to raise for 30 minutes. Bake at 425F for 10 minutes or until golden brown. YIELD: 10 buns |
